What does a photograph mean if the image is a lie?

A documentary filmmaker (Janis DeLucia Allen) investigates the murder of a former model (Melissa Leo, 2009 Academy Award Best Actress Nominee) and finds that everything she's been told about her death is false.  This subtle and mysterious drama features an ensemble cast.

STEPHANIE'S IMAGE screened at the Landmark Opera Plaza Cinemas on February 15-21 as a kick-off to the Vanguard Cinema DVD release on February 23.  C and L also presented two outstanding short films, “How to be Popular” by John Dilley and “Ella and the Astronaut” by Robert Machoian & Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck, at each screening of STEPHANIE’S IMAGE.

Melissa Leo received a 2009 Best Actress Academy Award nomination for her performance in FROZEN RIVER.  She won a 2009 Independent Spirit Award as Best Actress and also won Breakthrough Actor of the Year at the IFP Gotham Awards.
